Bourke Walgett is a split site Distance Education Primary School with sites 230 kilometres apart, one in Walgett, one in Bourke. Our school supports its teaching and learning program though the use of the Satellite Eductaion Program for all geographically isloated enrolments. BWSODE provide individual programs for students who cannot attend a face-to-face school. These programs cater for a range of students including students with medical conditions,travelling, isolated students. Studying by distance is very flexible and enables families to fit their childs education around their lifestyle. BWSODE has a strong focus on utilising technologies such as satellite delivery and videoconferencing that create collaborative class groups. Our field service program provides opportunities for quality learning experiences as well as socialisation for geographically isloated students.
